If you are looking for better commentary than the Washington Post editorial, no surprise that you don’t have to look further than Bruce Schneier… It looks like for the most part, both real journalism and thoughtful editorials have moved away from print.

Corporations cannot reasonably assume that all state actors are trustworthy regarding business secrets. My employer reasonably requires that my work laptop have an encrypted file system. I would expect to see corporate policies requiring, and corporate lobbying support, full-phone encryption, even if merely to protect trade secrets. Businesses might not have the same motivations as privacy advocates, but in this case their interests are somewhat aligned, I think.
