Here in North Carolina, our legislators are preparing to cut the gas tax right now, while gas is cheap, with a scheduled increase in gas taxes later, when the current “game of chicken” plays out and gas prices have returned to more reasonable levels.

The legislators clearly are attempting to reduce the demand for electric vehicles now, then increase the demand after federal subsidies for electric vehicles start running out. This will help them implement their general policy of keeping federal subsidy dollars out of North Carolina.

Slick move.  They get credit for reducing taxes knowing gas won’t be cheap long.  Enjoy while it lasts.

Yeah, they know that the attention span of John Q. Public is almost as short as… Look, squirrel!
