All of Switzerland would so go to jail.

We even let 5 year olds walk to the Kindergarten on their own.

I just don’t understand how this is a thing? I don’t know anyone who thinks this isn’t ridiculous - so how does it survive? We don’t have enough funding for the kids how need these services, why does anyone spend time and money trying to shove kids who clearly don’t need them into the program? Nevermind why they think they have the right to separate them from their family. This is embarrassing.

At thirteen, he would be eligible to take the RC babysitting course and be responsible for a house full of kids for an evening, but at eleven his parents can’t get stuck in traffic. Makes my blood boil. When I was eleven I would come home from school and disappear into the forest until supper and it was good for me.

CPS desperately needs some accountability and rule of law. Right now they get to pretty much make up their own laws without proper checks and balances. They need to reserve their energy and resources for the sadly many cases where they are desperately needed, not criminally hassle good parents.

Ultimately, if CPS continues unchecked (this is not isolated), I expect additional laws will be passed to limit its power. If they didn’t abuse their power so that we didn’t have to worry about their lack of rule of law, they would ultimately stay in a better position to help the neediest kids.

Democracy works in mysterious ways.

I don’t know anyone who thinks that mass surveillance is the right way to improve security. Or anyone who thinks that Putin is a good leader for my country. But there you have both, and I am sure that a proper unbiased poll would show strong public support for both.

Not that it does not change over time. Hopefully…

I mean, that where “normal people”, their neighbours, who called the police in the first place.
