Garrison Keillor performed his last Prairie Home Companion tonight. September 23rd, in Eau Claire Wisconsin, he will lead a fundraising concert, supporting work my late brother Alec started before his unexpected death.

Most of that work was to help build indigenous community in deeply rural Uganda. My brother loved the people he met there, the way they took time for each other, and he looked for ways to remove roadblocks, building up the local economy by starting pay-it-forward programs for education and local entrepreneurial groups, supporting locally appropriate agriculture education for farmers, and more. We can’t replace Alec’s personal presence and friendship with his Ugandan friends, but Garrison is helping us to fund the work that Alec invested in so personally.

Thanks, Garrison!
