We had our first family model rocket launching party this afternoon.

Also, I learned that I still remember how to climb trees.

climbing trees is like riding a bike…you never forget how but they don’t always return the favor…

Partway up the tree, there was a large dead branch that had fallen off but was hung up in other branches. My first thought was to clear it from the tree so it wouldn’t fall down and hit someone later. Fortunately, I realized in time that I first wanted to carry it up with me and use it to reach up and dislodge the rocket. Not sure I would have been successful without it.

Last night I realized that I didn’t have my watch on, and the last I could remember it was giving it to my daughter to hold while I climbed the tree. Fortunately, when I went to the park this morning on the way to work, I found the watch on the ground, right where she sat to watch me climb.
