Treadmill desk improvements
Last weekend, I added a monitor/laptop shelf to my treaddesk. It’s moved the monitors up and my neck feels much better. Unfortunately (or, I guess, fortunately) hdapsd now senses too much acceleration and parks the hard drive almost all the time if I walk much more than 1.5MPH.. This is inhibiting real exercise.
I want the solution to be buying a GeekDesk adjustable height frame on which to mount my desk. I think, however, the actual solution will be putting independent legs and angle bracing on the desk instead.

SSD to rescue. Or, put the monitor & the keyboard on the desk, and the notebook on a separate stool.

I’m running low on space on the 750GB hard drive, and the laptop currently is one of the two monitors… So no matter what, the solution is more complicated. Deleting thousands of photos is my wife’s suggestion for the first part of the solution! With my new camera I’m taking an order of magnitude more pictures, and shooting raw+jpeg, so in any case I need to change my storage strategy… :-)

Couldn’t you just buy a 6 degree of freedom IMU and build a self stabilizing platform that zeros out all the accelerations and rotations from the mounting base. Or you could get a chicken (you could also do this with a bald eagle, but a chicken is probably cheaper and more legal.) <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

+Curtis Olson I’m ashamed to admit that the idea of an active inertial stabilization platform already occurred to me. It’s a good thing I don’t have the engineering chops to successfully accomplish it!
Chickens, like many birds, don’t like to wake up at night, when I spend most of my treadmill time. And using owls is also illegal. ;)

I figured as such, but I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to watch and post the chicken video – one of my favorites on youtube for some reason. :-)
