What happens when all the phones beep
This afternoon at work, we noticed an alarming momentary drop in our incoming event stream across our customers generally. Was it an infrastructure problem? Maybe a transient front end routing outage? Fortunately we noticed the exact time of the outage before going down a rabbit hole. :) #presidentialalert

Wow. What kind of data do you work on these days?

We (Pendo) do web and mobile application analytics and end user guidance based on real time analytics. The events coming in are events from our customers’ users using our customers’ apps. So when many millions of people reach away from their computers to pick up their phones, or quit interacting with a mobile app when an alert shows up, there is an actual impact on our incoming event stream.
(In the web 1.0 days, you could understand user activity though server logs to some extent, but RIA pretty much killed that.)

I know you have mentioned it before.. and I think it is this one: which must be doing pretty well since when I went to google it, I have 8 promoted ads before it saying “Considering Pendo.. try <Fill in XXX> instead”
